Delight in the wildlife of Africa on this exciting 10-day safari! Travel in luxury on an executive class aircraft, fitted with bespoke leather seating, with a total of just 8 seats. Arrive in Nairobi and stay at the fabulous Nairobi Hemingway’s hotel. You’ll then fly to Amboseli for a luxurious stay at Tortillis Camp. From Amboseli fly to the Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia and then to the Masai Mara, a huge expanse of rolling grassland dotted with acacia trees and trampled by massive herds of zebra and wildebeest during the Great Migration. After the Masai Mara, you return to Nairobi where your journey ends.

Day 1: Arrival, Transfer Hemingways Nairobi

Overnight: Hemingways Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we will meet you in style- for assistance and transfer to your hotel of stay where you are booked on bed and breakfast basis. Overnight at Hemingways Nairobi. The beautiful Hemingways Nairobi is situated a mere 40 minutes from Nairobi’s international airport, where it is spread across flourishing grounds in the exclusive suburb of Karen. This elegant boutique hotel is enchanting in its decor and flooded with natural light. Its well-appointed, ensuite rooms each have a private balcony overlooking the iconic silhouette of the Ngong Hills. Guests are treated to the services of a discreet, highly trained butler whose role is to ensure a hassle-free stay. Tuck into delicious European-inspired fare at the Brasserie and enjoy refreshing beverages at the convivial bar. Guests seeking to unwind can make use of the first-class spa facilities or simply enjoy the sense of blissful seclusion, luxury on the edge of wilderness.

Days 2-3: Transfer Amboseli N.Park

Stay: Tortilis Camp

Enjoy breakfast and a briefing at Hemingways before you transfer to Wilson Airport, Nairobi, The SkySafari takes to the air. Arrive in Amboseli National Park, the second most popular wildlife area in Kenya, famous for its large population of over 1000 resident elephants and for its scenic beauty with the backdrop of the world’s highest free-standing mountain, snow-capped Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National Park covers 96,865 acres (392km2), which constitutes less than 5% of the entire 2 million acre ecosystem of the Amboseli basin crossing from Kenya into Tanzania. The lush green wetlands in this otherwise dry area make Amboseli National Park one of the best wildlife-viewing areas on the planet, attracting over 600 species of birds including pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, hammerkops, 47 types of raptors as well as the African elephant, cape buffalo, impala, hyena, giraffe, zebra, gazelle and wildebeest with lion and cheetah among the big cats that roam the area. Amboseli opens your eyes to Africa’s vast space: a photographer’s paradise. Around camp the Acacia Tortilis forest is host to many bird species and literally thousands of weaver nests hang above the tents adding a rousing dawn chorus into the mix. Tortilis Camp has unrivalled views of Kilimanjaro, rising out of the semi-arid bush studded plains – Africa’s highest mountain, and the highest free standing mountain in the world.

Days 4-6: Laikipia Conservancy

Stay: Segera Retreat

Breakfast is followed by check out. This morning, you will be transferred local airstrip for your tranfer to Laikipia Conservancy. Upon arrival you will be assisted and check in at the Segera Retreat. Segera Retreat lies on the grasslands of the Laikipia Plateau. Six beautifully appointed villas, created from timber and thatch, are raised above a profusion of botanical life, with spectacular views onto Mount Kenya. Each villa is unique, providing complete privacy and exclusivity for the guest. The gracious Segera House and Villa Segera boast even greater privacy and luxury. The main area comprises the Paddock House, Wine Tower and renovated stables, complete with bar and dining room filled with art. The essence of Segera is as a retreat to relax and indulge either before or after you go on your safari. Wildlife is almost a secondary part of the experience. The retreat, owned by Jochen Zeitz is very much inspired by a focus on contemporary art and ideas. Use this as a base to explore the Northern Frontier by Helicopter or simply to relax, recover from jetlag or enjoy your last moments of your holiday before returning home, fully refreshed. Dining is an experience in itself, created by talented local chefs who deliver culinary magic using organic, locally grown and free range produce. Each meal is served in a different part of the retreat. Guests at Segera can pick from a long list of entertainment, from classic safari game drives to enriching community visits, guided game walks and indulgent spa treatments. For the adventurous, this is ideal for helicopter safari’s or a sleep-out experience in their Nay Palad Birds Nest – well worth the additional cost.

Days 7-9: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Stay: Sand River Mara Camp

After breakfast at camp enjoy a game drive en-route to Loisaba Airstrip for your SkySafari flight to the world famous Maasai Mara. Game drive en-route to Sand River Maasai Mara Camp. Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Maasai Mara is located within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Situated on a secluded and picturesque site, the Camp replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920’s. The interior fixtures and furnishings mirror this period perfectly, reminding all who visit of those countless Hollywood movies that have paid homage to a classic era of African adventure.

After your first night in the Mara rise early for breakfast before a full day game drive including a Maasai village visit. Enjoy a picnic lunch served in the bush. The Masai Mara is famous for its astounding numbers of wildlife. With both resident and transient populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, elephant, to name a few, as well as over 450 bird species, the vast fertile plains are dense with game. The area has been classified among the “Seven Wonders of the World” due to the extraordinary annual migration from July to November when over 1.3 million wildebeest and zebra cross from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of greener pastures. Your last day in the Mara includes early morning and afternoon game drives plus a farewell dinner under the stars at camp.

Day 10: Departure, End of Expedition

Transfer; Wilson, Hemingways, Nairobi

Breakfast at camp is followed by a transfer to the airstrip for your SkySafari flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival you will be transferred privately to Hemingways Nairobi for the afternoon (a day room is available for your use) before transferring to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
