Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and assisted to transfer to Hemingways Nairobi. The beautiful Hemingways Nairobi is situated a mere 40 minutes from Nairobi’s international airport, where it is spread across flourishing grounds in the exclusive suburb of Karen. This elegant boutique hotel is enchanting in its decor and flooded with natural light. Its well-appointed, ensuite rooms each have a private balcony overlooking the iconic silhouette of the Ngong Hills. Guests are treated to the services of a discreet, highly trained butler whose role is to ensure a hassle-free stay. Tuck into delicious European-inspired fare at the Brasserie and enjoy refreshing beverages at the convivial bar. After your early breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson airport, where you board your flight to Samburu, a semi-desert region in the remote frontier district. Upon arrival you will be met and accisted transfer to Sasaab Camp.
Looking out over the Laikipia Plateau and the distinctive peak of Mount Kenya, Sasaab Camp features a Moroccan-style design that makes the most of the river breezes. Just nine individual cottages feature elegant four poster beds, extra large open-air bathrooms and private plunge pools, as well as spacious verandas that look out over herds of elephant bathing in the river.
Built into the hillside, the camp’s main swimming pool boasts views over the cooling river waters. Invigorating treatments using an assortment of natural Kenyan ingredients are available at the camp’s spa. For hands-on pampering, in-room massages and beauty treatments will invigorate guests. Adventures include twice-daily game drives (including spotlit night drives), walking safaris along the river or in the grasslands, day trips to the Samburu Reserve, mountain biking and cultural excursions.
After a relaxed breakfast, leave from Sasaab on your privately chartered flight to the Maasai Mara, departing at 10:00 am and arriving at 11:00 am. Take in the epic views as you fly into Keekorok Airstrip, on arrival you will be received and helped transfer to Sala's camp with game drive enroute.
Sala's camp is scenically situated near the convergence of two rivers in the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The seven ensuite safari tents are set in a shady forest on the river’s edge. Each tent boasts a comfortable bed with crisp linen and a full ensuite bathroom. Sala’s Camp enjoys a prime location right on the annual path of the world-famous Great Wildebeest Migration. Guests witness unforgettable game viewing, dramatic river crossings and exciting predator action. Delicious, wholesome meals are prepared by chefs in the traditional safari way, over an open fire using the freshest farm-sourced produce. Guests savour sundowners and swap stories around a blazing fire, and evening meals are served under the starry African sky.
After enjoying a final early morning game drive or a leisurely breakfast in camp, leave for Keekorok Airstrip around 10:00 am. Catch your privately chartered flight back to Wilson Airport, departing at 11:00 am to arrive at 12:00 noon. We’ll be waiting to meet you at Wilson Airport and drive you to Giraffe Manor for your final night. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with activities of your choice perhaps a soothing post-safari massage in our Garden Spa. If you’d like to explore some of the local souvenir shops or attractions, we will arrange for one of our drivers to take you. Be sure to be back in time for our traditional afternoon tea at 5:00 pm – a fabulous experience where you can hand feed the giraffes. Enjoy your final African sundowner on the front deck.
